My best ever client post got seen by 150k people in its first week (but I later learned the blog owner was a scummy scammer, so that might have been, shall we say "inorganic"?)

Whenever I write about old software, it still strikes me how absurd it is that it’s easier to run software from the 90s and 2000s on a modern computer than it is to run an iOS app from 15 years ago.

Most of the time I write blog posts that get seen by seven or eight people (I assume! I stopped doing any even basic impressions tracking on my blog ages ago.)

This is a major blow to the open web! For as long as I can remember, Reddit has embraced RSS feeds and public API access to users, apps, and developers, allowing the site to thrive. @jensimmons I completely disagree with the dark/light premise in the first place. There were no issues until everyone started making their operating systems completely white.

@peterw This is up there with the standard Reddit parenting advice to anyone who posts, like, “Is it just me or is it impossible to balance parenting with full-time work?” The good people of Reddit’s go-to suggestion is literally always “Just hire a nanny/housekeeper!” as if this is a realistic and normal thing that normal people do

This is my favourite book on witchcraft. It (like many books on the subject) is a bit dated in places and suffers from some cultural appropriation. Every book from that time will be for sure. But it's one that resonates with me and my practice.
